Does my child need experience to register for Precanskate or Canskate lessons?

No. Both are Learn to skate programs which teach children of all abilities.

Do I need my own equipment?

How do I register my child in the right level?

Make sure that you have the correct group (Precanskate/Canskate) and we will do the rest. If you have skated with us before we will have record of all of your child’s skating achievements. If you are new to MSC we will assess your child’s skills and then place them in the appropriate group. Usually this will happen during the first week.

I have a scheduling conflict can I switch classes?

MSC will try to accommodate parents that need to change days or time that their children skate. If there is room in classes to switch the skaters to we can do that with you in the office. Please note that there could be a small fee for the switch depending on the number of classes left.

I don’t think my child is ready for group skating lessons can I get a refund?

We recommend having a conversation with the On Ice Convener or the Canskate Coordinator, they may be able to make suggestions to help your child enjoy their lessons. Together you can make the best plan of action. If withdrawal is the best step then we offer a family credit onto your MSC account, it is calculated by the registration fee less the number of classes that have passed and an administration fee of $35.

My child is injured and will need to withdraw?

If your child is injured and has been advised not to continue skating, we will be able to refund you once a doctor’s note has been provided. It is calculated by the registration fee less the number of classes that have passed and a $35 administration fee.

My child will miss a class can we have a makeup class?

NO. MSC does not offer make up classes for missed classes.

Can I drop my child off at the arena and then leave?

NO. A parent or other responsible adult needs to be in the arena or lobby during class.
